Stellar Blade sells a million copies on PC in three days

- 16 June, 01:20 PM

Stellar Blade, a recent PlayStation exclusive, has performed impressively on PC, with the game selling over a million units in just three days since its release. According to Shift Up, this was made possible by a simultaneous strong launch on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The PC version received enhanced technical support: support for ultrawide displays, deep graphics tuning, built-in gamepad support, and the ability to freely remap keys. The release was stable and received mostly positive reviews on Steam, which further stimulated sales.

The studio said that they initially planned to create DLC for the game, but due to the high demands on the PC version — and the desire to make it as high-quality as possible — the team's resources were redirected to the port.

Now Shift Up is completely switching its attention to creating a sequel. According to the studio's founder, Kim Hyun-tae, the sequel is already in the early stages of development. The game is planned to be larger in scale — both in terms of plot and content. The next part is planned for release immediately on PlayStation and PC in 2027, but the studio head is not sure that they will have time.

Stellar Blade was Shift Up's debut major game. It combines elements of slasher and science fiction, and its combat system and visual style received rave reviews from players and sparked a lot of discussion.

Let us remind you that there is a review of Stellar Blade on Mezha. The editors rated the game 7 out of 10. At the same time, on rating aggregators like MetaCritic, Stellar Blade has 81 points from critics and as much as 9.2 from players. On OpenCritic, the situation is similar - 82 and 90, respectively.
