Safe Superintelligence (SSI), an artificial intelligence startup founded by OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutzkever, has raised an additional $2 billion in funding, reaching a valuation of $32 billion, the Financial Times reports, via TechCrunch.

The company has previously raised $1 billion in investment and has also reported a possible new $1 billion funding round. SSI would not comment on the latest funding round, which was reportedly led by Greenoaks.

Ilya Sutzkever left OpenAI in May 2024 after a failed attempt to oust CEO Sam Altman. He founded SSI with AI experts Daniel Gross and Daniel Levy, stating that the company has one goal: to create safe superintelligence. SSI’s product is currently in development, and the company’s website contains only a programmatic statement.
