GSC Game World has announced that the original STALKER: Legends of the Zone Trilogy will receive an Enhanced Edition with improved graphics. The release will take place next week - May 20, 2025.
This free update will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The Enhanced Edition will add improved graphics, including new shaders, lighting, and textures. The trilogy will also receive support for gamepads, Steam Deck, and Workshop.
If players own just one of the STALKER games, they will receive a free update to that game, while if they purchase the trilogy, both the original games and the Enhanced Edition will appear in their library. GSC Game World also notes that there are no plans for a Nintendo Switch release yet.
Other improvements include support for 4K resolution and ultrawide monitors, as well as FSR technology, although DLSS is not provided. Different modes will appear on consoles, in particular with a focus on image quality or performance. In addition, the studio has published the system requirements for the updated trilogy.
However, GSC Game World warns that mods for the classic trilogy will not work in STALKER: Legends of the Zone Trilogy Enhanced Edition, but players will still be able to play the original games. At the same time, the enhanced versions will support mods from the Steam Workshop.
