The latest leaks about Apple's iPhone 17 Air suggest that the smartphone will be extremely thin, measuring just 5.5mm thick. However, this sleek design comes at a price: the battery in such a smartphone will be small. New leaks reveal exactly what that capacity will be, and it will disappoint many.
According to Korean sources, citing an Apple parts supplier, the iPhone 17 Air will be equipped with a battery of only 2800 mAh. This is significantly smaller than competitors such as the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, which has a 3900 mAh battery with a body thickness of 5.8 mm. Even the five-year-old Galaxy Z Flip had a 3300 mAh battery, despite its complex design.
Apple is reported to be partially compensating for this shortcoming with high-density battery technology, which will improve efficiency by 15-20%. In addition, informants confirm that the iPhone 17 Air will be very light - only 145 grams.
According to the latest data, the smartphone will receive a 6.6-inch display with Dynamic Island and a 120 Hz refresh rate, a camera control button, an A19 chip, and support for Wi-Fi 7. The iPhone 17 series, including the Air, is expected to be presented in September or October 2025.
