Rumors have long circulated online that with the arrival of the expected Hi-Fi tier, Spotify may follow the path of Amazon Prime Video and add advertising to the standard subscription.
Spotify decided to respond to this and made an announcement in X that "Premium music listening is and will remain ad-free."
Unfortunately, Spotify has not yet provided any updates on the implementation of the Hi-Fi feature. Although the company announced it back in 2021, the ability to listen to music in high quality is still not available. Meanwhile, competitors such as Apple Music and Tidal have long offered Hi-Fi sound without any additional fees or ads.
