Discover Weekly, Spotify's weekly playlist that helps users discover new music, has been updated with even more customization.
The new feature is part of the 10th anniversary celebration of the playlist, which has racked up nearly 100 billion streams and introduces new artists 56 million times a week. To mark the occasion, Spotify is updating its cover art and adding features for better personalization.
Starting today and over the coming weeks, new controls will appear at the top of the playlist on smartphones, allowing you to customize your music with a simple tap. There, you will be able to choose from one of five genre options to create a new playlist of 30 tracks.
Genre options will be based on user preferences. These five options will take into account the most popular genres that users listen to. By selecting one of the options, users will be able to see new songs according to the selected genre.
