Watch the trailer for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Deathwatch from Netflix
Netflix has released the first trailer for the animated series "Splinter Cell: Deathwatch." The premiere on the streaming platform will take place on October 14.
Sam Fisher returns in a Netflix series where his new mission will be personal. The show is created by Derek Kolstad, known for "John Wick." It stars Liev Schreiber (Sam Fisher) and Kirby Howell-Baptiste (new Splinter Cell agent Zinnia McKennie).
"In the shadowy world of espionage, Sam Fisher is a rumor and a legend. Pulled back into action, he must help a new recruit unravel a global conspiracy," the synopsis says.
The project is part of a larger collaboration between Ubisoft, the publisher of the Splinter Cell games, and Netflix. The partnership also recently announced a series based on the Assassin's Creed video game series. It was also previously reported that the American cable channel FX is working on a Far Cry series.
This won't be Netflix's first video game adaptation. The streaming service has previously released animated series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which will receive a second season, and many others.
