Nicolas Cage to play Spider-Man in new Spider-Noir series
Amazon has released a teaser for its new Spider-Noir series, starring Nicolas Cage, who voiced the character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
According to Variety, the series will be released in 2026 and will tell the story of an older private detective in 1930s New York who is confronted with his past and forced to become a hero again. The show will be available in two versions - in color and in black and white.
The project is based on the Spider-Man Noir comics. The series is being developed by Sony Pictures Television for MGM+ and Prime Video. The first two episodes will be directed by Harry Bradbear. The writers of Into the Spider-Verse — Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal — are also working on the project.
The series will also star Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popula, Lee Jun Lee, and more. The series will premiere on MGM+, after which it will be available on Prime Video worldwide.
