Sony has announced a significant increase in PlayStation Plus subscription prices in many regions around the world, PushSquare reports.
Starting April 16, prices will increase in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and other countries, including Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Uruguay.
In some regions, existing users will not be affected unless they upgrade their subscription plan. In other countries, however, the price increase will affect all users starting with the next billing cycle. Sony attributes this decision to the impact of global economic changes, noting that the price adjustment will allow the company to continue offering high-quality games and additional benefits to PlayStation Plus users.
In Southeast Asia, the changes will take effect after the next billing date, which will be on or after June 24th.
The US and Europe are currently safe from such price increases, but uncertainty about the future tariff situation remains and could affect everyone.
