Sony introduces FlexStrike wireless arcade controller for PS5 and PC
Ahead of the Evolution Championship Series (EVO), Sony has unveiled the Project Defiant arcade controller — now officially called FlexStrike. It's the company's first fight stick. It's set to launch in 2026 and will be compatible with PlayStation 5 and PC via wired or wireless connections.
FlexStrike supports PlayStation Link, Sony’s proprietary low-latency wireless connection. Players can use a single PS Link USB adapter to simultaneously connect the fight stick and a Pulse Elite headset or Pulse Explore headphones. There’s also the option to connect two controllers to a single PS5 for local play.
The controller features mechanical buttons, a digital joystick, and interchangeable stick travel stops—square, round, and octagonal. All accessories are stored in built-in compartments on the case. The kit includes a strap bag for transportation, a USB-C cable, and a built-in battery.
FlexStrike features an ergonomic body with angled edges and a non-slip base. It supports standard DualSense controls, including the touchpad and the ability to switch input modes with a stick. There's also a dedicated lock button to prevent accidental presses during gameplay. The controller can also be used to wake the console from sleep mode.
FlexStrike will be shown to the public for the first time at EVO 2025 from August 1st to 3rd. It can be seen at the Arc System Works booth and the Fight Stick Museum
