Sonim introduces XP Pro rugged smartphone with FLIR thermal imaging camera

Sonim has announced a new XP Pro smartphone designed for use in extreme conditions, NotebookCheck reports. The device is equipped with a FLIR Lepton 3.5 thermal imaging camera, which allows you to detect thermal bridges, hot spots after fires or overheated wiring. The camera is compatible with FLIR Thermal Studio software, which expands its functionality.

The smartphone meets MIL-STD-810H, IP68 and IPX9K protection standards, which guarantees resistance to water, dust and drops. XP Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, supports 5G connectivity and has a 6.58-inch display with Full HD+ resolution, which is covered with Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The device is equipped with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 1 TB using microSD.

The smartphone runs on Android 14. The release date and price have not yet been announced.
