These Galaxy S25 smartphones will receive a record number of major Android updates
Samsung has announced that the enterprise version of the Galaxy S25 smartphones, which includes the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra, will receive eight major Android operating system updates. This means that the devices will be supported up to Android version 23. In comparison, the standard versions of these smartphones will only receive seven updates, up to Android 22.
Additionally, Samsung guarantees security updates for the Galaxy S25 Enterprise Edition until January 2032. This is the longest software support period of any smartphone in the world, including iPhone and Pixel. Such continued support is especially important for businesses where devices are used for many years.
This initiative demonstrates Samsung's commitment to providing long-term support for its flagship devices, making them attractive to enterprise customers. However, the question remains how well the hardware, particularly the battery, will withstand such a long period of updates.
