Konami reveals Silent Hill f gameplay and announces release date

Konami showed a gameplay trailer for the new game Silent Hill f at State of Play. It also announced a release date for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC — September 25, 2025.

Konami has confirmed that Silent Hill f will be the first game in the series to be set in Japan. It will be set in the fictional town of Ebisugaoka in the 1960s, and will feature high school student Hinako Shimidou as the main character.

The story, developed by visual novelist Ryukishi07, combines personal drama with psychological horror. According to the developers, the player will make choices that will affect the ending - between beauty and madness, fear and an attempt to escape.

Silent Hill f develops four main themes:

• The atmosphere of 1960s Japan;
• A combination of beauty and horror in visuals and music - with monsters by artist kera and a soundtrack by Akira Yamaoka and Kensuke Inage;
• Psychology and puzzles related to Japanese culture, in particular the image of stuffed animals;
• Melee combat, which has become more active and tougher than in the Silent Hill 2 remake.

Silent Hill f is a standalone spinoff that doesn't require any familiarity with the series, but does contain references for fans.
