Ukrainian role-playing strategy Shards of the Realm has left Steam Early Access
After 10 months in Steam Early Access, the full release of the Ukrainian global strategy/tactical role-playing game Shards of the Realm from solo developer Yevgeny Rebrakov from Kyiv took place.
As a reminder, Shards of the Realm combines complex turn-based tactical character combat with the strategic depth of managing your own fortress in a vast open world. It's like Mount & Blade plus HoMM, XCOM, and Baldur's Gate III.
At the tactical level, all types of cover, armor segmentation, elemental damage are taken into account. There is environmental destruction and friendly fire. The squad consists of 9 characters, which are divided into 4 basic classes and 8 unique subclasses. Multi-class and skill tree with over 60 active and passive abilities available. Almost all equipment in the game is created manually through research and production.
At the strategic level, the player must explore the world, trade, engage in science, craft, and craft items (over 200 items) that your warriors use. Shards of the Realm has six NPC factions with which you can fight or form alliances. The game features day and night cycles, global events, and much more. The author promises that all of the player's actions will have significant consequences that change the overall storyline of the game.
Shards of the Realm has Ukrainian localization, including voice acting (possibly AI) and costs UAH 415. If you are interested in complex, demanding strategies/RPGs where the cost of a mistake is high, pay attention to this game.
