Samsung temporarily halts global One UI 7 update due to bug
Last week, Samsung began rolling out the much-anticipated One UI 7 update based on Android 15 to the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Fold 6, and Galaxy Flip 6 series. However, the company suddenly stopped the rollout of the update worldwide. The reason was a serious bug that was discovered after the update began in several countries on April 7, and later in the US on April 10, as reported by Android Authority.
According to trusted insider Ice Universe, users in South Korea have been complaining in droves about unlocking their devices after installing the update, forcing Samsung to temporarily halt its rollout. If you haven't received One UI 7 yet, it could be due to this delay.
Initially, it was believed that the issue only affected Galaxy S24 models with the Exynos 2400 chip. Insider @tarunvats33 reported that Samsung even removed the affected firmware from its servers. But it later became known that updates were also stopped for Snapdragon versions of the Galaxy S24 sold in the US and other countries.
Users fear that this pause will affect the update schedule for other devices, including the Galaxy S23 series. Samsung has not officially commented on the situation yet.
Those who have already installed One UI 7 will likely have to wait for an additional patch to fix the identified issues.
