Samsung has again filed a lawsuit against Chinese display manufacturer BOE, accusing it of illegally using trade secrets.
As reported by Sammobile, the lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Samsung claims that BOE engaged in the recruitment of Samsung Display employees and collaborated with the company's suppliers to gain access to confidential information.
Among the violations are drawings of key equipment used to produce OLED displays at the Chengdu plant. Samsung says BOE used the data to develop micro-OLED displays in an attempt to win orders from large customers in the United States. The company is also seeking compensation for lost operating profits, unfair advantage to BOE, and punitive damages.
The case is part of a long-running dispute between the companies that began in 2023 over patent disputes over OLED technology. A preliminary ruling was made in Samsung's favor in 2024, and was recently upheld.
