Samsung has introduced a new feature for its smart refrigerators – voice recognition of family members. Thanks to this, the system will be able to display personalized information on the refrigerator screen based on the person.

Voice ID will use Bixby to recognize multiple voices registered on either the refrigerator or a Galaxy mobile device, allowing users to set up household devices for shared use.

The company cites an example where Bixby automatically switches to a user's individual Samsung account, allowing them to manage multiple calendars or galleries and view them on the refrigerator screen with simple voice commands.

Another application is smartphone tracking. Smart refrigerator owners will be able to set an alarm on their device even if their smartphone is on silent mode.

Additionally, Voice ID also provides seamless interaction with the refrigerator screen for users who use vision enhancement on their Galaxy phones. As Samsung explains, Bixby automatically switches accounts and syncs the appliance's display modes with smartphone settings, such as color inversion or grayscale.

In addition to Voice ID, Samsung has also introduced a new method for activating Bixby on smart refrigerators. While previously users had only two options – pressing a button or activating with their voice, now the assistant can be invoked by double-tapping the screen, even if it is turned off.

The update will first be available for Bespoke AI Refrigeratos refrigerators with AI Family Hub, released in 2025. Over time, the company will begin rolling it out to smaller AI Home display devices.
