Samsung increases production of Galaxy S25 smartphones due to possible tariff changes in the US

- 9 May, 02:35 AM

Samsung has reportedly decided to increase production of its Galaxy S25 smartphones by 800,000 units in May, Android Authority reports, citing Korean publication THE ELEC. This is due to concerns about possible tariff increases on South Korean imports to the United States.

The total Galaxy S25 production volume in May will be 3.3 million units, with almost half of them being the flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra. The standard and Plus versions will be released in quantities of 1.3 million and 500,000 units, respectively.

Samsung had previously planned to produce 2.5 million smartphones of this series in May, but due to uncertainty over US trade policy, the company decided to increase the volume. Production is expected to decrease to 1.4 million units in June.

The US administration previously announced a 90-day pause in the implementation of new 25% tariffs on South Korea, but Samsung aims to release as many devices as possible before possible changes in customs policy. This will allow the company to minimize risks and ensure stable product supplies to the US market.
