Samsung introduced the Exynos 2500 - the chip that will probably be used in the Galaxy Flip7
Samsung has officially announced the new Exynos 2500 mobile processor. According to previous reports, it will be used in all versions of the upcoming Galaxy Flip7 smartphone - even in the US, which will be a departure from the traditional use of Snapdragon for flagship foldable models.
The Exynos 2500 is manufactured using the 3nm GAA process and has a 1+(2+5)+2 CPU configuration: one Cortex-X5 core (3.3 GHz), two Cortex-A725 (2.74 GHz), five Cortex-A725 (2.36 GHz), and two Cortex-A520 (1.8 GHz). Graphics are handled by the Xclipse 950 with ray tracing support and 4K/120 Hz output.
Although the company does not name specific devices, insider Ice Universe confirmed that the Exynos 2500 will be available in the Galaxy Flip7, while the Fold7 is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy.
The Exynos 2500 supports LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.0 flash storage , up to 320MP cameras, and 8K 30fps video recording. The built-in Exynos 5400 modem provides 5G (mmWave), satellite connectivity, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4.
Samsung separately highlights the capabilities of the NPU: 59 trillion operations per second and a 39% increase in AI performance compared to the Exynos 2400.
