Samsung has officially announced the Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SF), the world's first 500Hz OLED gaming monitor. The new product is aimed at professional gamers who value the smoothest and fastest gameplay.
The Odyssey OLED G6 features a 27-inch QD-OLED panel with Quad HD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels) and 1000 nits of brightness. With a response time of 0.03 ms and support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC technologies, the monitor provides instant response and no tearing even in the most dynamic scenes.
To protect the display from burn-in, Samsung has integrated OLED Safeguard+ technology, which includes a dynamic cooling system and automatic brightness adjustment of the monitor to reduce heat build-up. The system uses a cooling liquid that evaporates and condenses, dissipating heat 5 times faster than traditional graphite sheets. The monitor can also intelligently reduce the brightness of static images such as logos and taskbars to prevent burn-in.
The new Odyssey OLED G6 is certified to the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 standard, which guarantees deep blacks, and is equipped with Samsung Glare Free technology, which gives the monitor improved anti-glare properties.
The monitor is height adjustable, tilt adjustable, supports horizontal and vertical positions, and is wall mountable. Built-in ports include DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, USB Type-A and Type-B, and a headphone jack.
The Odyssey OLED G6 will be available in Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand starting May 12, with other countries to follow. Expected price is around $1,140.
