Samsung will add a watermark to photos, like on Chinese smartphones
The Galaxy S25 and Galaxy Fold 7 will feature a new watermark on photos that will show many times more details about the image, writes insider UniverseIce.
The watermark option available on Samsung smartphones allows you to add the device model to the image, as well as the date and time the photo was taken. The new feature will show more details, such as ISO level, aperture, lens focal length, etc. Samsung is adding this option to both vertical and horizontal photos.
The new watermark resembles alternative options from Chinese smartphone manufacturers such as Xiaomi or vivo, which, in addition to photo data, also add the brand of partners such as Leica, Zeiss or Hasselblad.
The feature became available with the latest One UI 8 update in China and, as UniverseIce later added, it is tied to the new Vivid filter. If you take photos with a watermark, all the photos you take will look brighter than if you take them without it.
It is currently unclear whether the watermark will be available separately without the Vivid filter and when the update will arrive on Samsung smartphones outside of China.
