Samsung may return to using its own Exynos chips in the next generation of Galaxy S smartphones. This is claimed by insider @Jukanlosreve, but the number of chips is limited, so some models and regions may remain Snapdragon.

Samsung has been struggling with low production rates for its own chips in preparation for the Galaxy S25 lineup. However, as reported in February 2025, the Exynos 2600's 2nm process yield rate is 30%, which may be enough to partially cover the company's needs. This means that some models and/or some regions will likely receive Qualcomm's next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Typically, when Samsung uses two different chipsets, the company puts Snapdragon in the US versions of the entire lineup, while in other countries the base and Plus models get Exynos. So, the Samsung Galaxy S26 and Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus could use Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 (the code name for Qualcomm's next-generation chip) in the US and Exynos 2600 in other countries, while the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will have Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 worldwide.
