Samsung Electronics has been the number one global TV market leader for 19 consecutive years, first taking the lead in 2006 and holding onto that position for nearly two decades.
According to research firm Omdia, Samsung's share of the global TV market will reach 28.3% in 2024. Among other things, the company has strengthened its position in the premium segment (costing over $2,500), where its share is 49.6%. In the super-large TV segment (75 inches and larger), Samsung also leads with a share of 28.7%.
Separately, the company's leadership in the QLED and OLED TV segments is noted. In the case of QLED, the company's market share is 46.8%, and last year 8.34 million units were sold. At the same time, the share of QLED TVs exceeded 10% of total sales for the first time.
Samsung’s OLED TV sales reached 1.44 million units in 2024, giving the company a 27.3% market share. This is a 42% increase in sales and a 4.6% higher market share compared to the previous year, reflecting strong consumer demand for OLED innovation.
As a reminder, Samsung previously announced that in 2024 the company became the leader among soundbar brands in the world. Last year, the company's share was 18.4%.
