Samsung TVs and monitors now support HDR10+ on Netflix

- 3 April, 06:00 PM

Samsung is adding HDR10+ support for Netflix series and movies to its devices. The technology will be available on 2025 Samsung Neo QLED, OLED, and Lifestyle models, and 2024 and 2025 monitors.

Netflix announced support for HDR10+ content on select monitors and TVs last week. The company also provided a detailed breakdown of the differences between HDR10 and HDR10+. The main difference is that HDR10 expands the dynamic range for the entire movie, while HDR10+ can do so on a scene-by-scene or even frame-by-frame basis.

In addition to supported Samsung TVs and monitors, viewers will also need a Netflix Premium plan to watch shows in 4K with HDR. Samsung also offers HDR10+ for UHD Blu-ray discs.

Samsung developed HDR10+ in collaboration with Amazon, so the technology is supported on the streaming service Prime Video. However, it is also supported by Google services such as YouTube and Google Play Movies & TV.
