The Samsung Galaxy S25 smartphone line has finally started receiving the first of seven major operating system updates. After several months of testing, the stable version of One UI 8 based on Android 16 is starting to appear to users, writes SamMobile.

Galaxy S25 smartphones are receiving the S93xNKSU5BYI3 update. As usual, Samsung is first releasing it to users in South Korea and beta testers, but in the coming days the update will be available to all other smartphone owners.

In addition to the refreshed design, One UI 8 adds new features, including improved gesture controls and the quick settings panel, significant system performance improvements, and the integration of new Galaxy AI features. For the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the update weighs 555 MB.

By the way, Samsung has not yet announced the exact release date of One UI 8 for the Galaxy S25 Edge, but the update is expected to arrive by the end of the month.

Recall that, among other things, One UI 8 for the Galaxy S25 line also prohibits unlocking the bootloader on smartphones. Previously, this option was limited to the US, but now it is expanding to all regions.
