Samsung introduces voice fraud detection feature in One UI 8

Samsung has reportedly added a new feature to One UI 8 — voice phishing detection. The feature is based on artificial intelligence and is currently available in South Korea. GSMArena reports this, citing Samsung's Korean website.

The feature is integrated into the standard calling app. Users can activate it through settings by enabling the "Notify about suspected voice fraud" option.

Once activated, the system analyzes conversations with unknown callers in real time. If signs of artificial voice are detected, a "detected" message appears on the screen and the device vibrates and sounds an alert — even if the screen is off.

There are two levels of warning: "suspicious" - when the user is advised to verify the identity of the caller, and "detected" - when the system confirms the fraudulent nature of the call. All such cases are automatically recorded in the call log.

The feature is currently only available in South Korea and is based on data from the National Police Agency and the National Institute of Forensic Science.

It is not yet known whether Samsung plans to expand this update to other countries, working with local law enforcement agencies to adapt the algorithms to other languages.
