Many Russian users have started reporting mass blocking of PlayStation accounts. This especially applies to accounts registered in other regions, such as Turkey, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and other places, Russian media reports.
Sony uses these blocks to combat circumvention of regional restrictions, in particular to obtain a PS Plus subscription, which is officially unavailable in Russia.
Russians are trying to bypass the block and contacting PlayStation support, but these attempts remain futile. The biggest problems are with users with purchased accounts - Sony checks IP addresses for verification.
In general, there are already many similar messages. In some cases, accounts on which games worth thousands of rubles were purchased were blocked.
Recall that after the start of the full-scale invasion, Sony officially withdrew from the Russian market. In 2022, the company completely stopped selling consoles and accessing PlayStation services.
