Apple's smart hub delayed due to Siri issues

- 7 April, 11:25 AM

We've already written more than once that Apple is developing a smart home hub. The device was supposed to be unveiled in 2025, but the release will likely be delayed, writes Mark Gurman of Bloomberg.

According to Gurman, Apple's smart hub was supposed to debut this spring. But due to problems with Siri, the company decided to postpone the release of the new product. Initially, it was planned to postpone it for a few months, perhaps until the launch of new iPhones in September. Now the company is considering 2026.

Apple's home hub, codenamed J490, is being actively tested at the company and in employees' homes. It will be largely voice-controlled, so Siri is critical.

By the way, Apple is also already working on the next version of the device — J595 — with various sensors and a robotic screen.
