0% commission and own stores on the Epic Games Store: what Epic Games now offers for developers
Epic Games has announced a new revenue sharing model that gives more freedom to app developers.
Starting in June 2025, developers selling their apps through the Epic Games Store will pay no commission on the first $1 million in revenue per year. After that, the standard split will apply: 88% for developers and 12% for Epic Games.
The company is also launching "webstores" that will allow developers to sell digital goods outside of apps, bypassing Apple and Google's high commissions. Players who make purchases through these webstores will earn 5% Epic Rewards points that can be used towards future purchases.
This initiative became possible after a court ruling that required Apple to allow alternative payment systems.
As a reminder, Epic Games previously announced that Fortnite will reappear in the American App Store next week.
