Former employees of 4A Games, known for the Metro series, have founded Reburn and are working on a new futuristic sci-fi shooter called La Quimera, according to a ResetEra forum post where users found an article and trailer for the upcoming game that have since been deleted.
According to information that appeared on the forum from a deleted article on the HobbyConsolas website, the Reburn studio was founded by Metro veterans and has over 110 employees. The head of the studio is Dmytro Lymar, the former CEO of the Ukrainian division of 4A Games. Sasha Kostyuk, the game designer of Metro Exodus, is responsible for the new project.
The studio's first project, La Quimera, or "Chimera", has a Spanish name, as the game's events will take place in a Latin American metropolis. In the jungle, the main character will receive an exoskeleton of a soldier of a private military company and find himself between two enemy factions. The game will be full of exotic elements and references to Latin folklore, as well as futuristic weapons and technologies. The game provides both a solitary and cooperative mode for three players.
However, the script for La Quimera was written by director Nicolas Winding Refn, the author of films such as Drive, The Neon Demon and many others. Refn also has some experience with games and worked on Death Stranding. He will be responsible for creating the world and story of the new game.
The game is said to have a strong Metro influence, from the narrative to the intense gunplay. The now-deleted article included comments from Dmytro Limar, who noted that La Quimera is “created based on the narrative shooters developed in the Metro series.”
There have been no official announcements from the studio regarding La Quimera so far. Reburn has since received an official website and LinkedIn page, but they are currently empty and do not reveal any additional details.
