New trailer for mobile RPG shooter Destiny: Rising reveals game's release date
Bungie and NetEase have released a new trailer for their mobile sci-fi RPG shooter Destiny: Rising. The trailer ends with the game's release date revealed as August 28, 2025. It will be available on iOS and Android.
The game is a spin-off of the Destiny universe, set in an alternate timeline after the Dark Age. Players will have access to both a PvE mode with six-player strike maps and a 3v3 PvP format. In addition, there is a roguelike single-player mode and various open-world missions.
Destiny: Rising allows for real-time customization of your gear, with the option to choose between a "primary" and a "power" weapon. The gameplay largely mirrors Destiny 2's mechanics, but with the added ability to switch to a third-person view outside of your supers.
Among the game characters are the new hero Wolf, who can be changed at will, as well as familiar figures: Iron Lord Jolder and Vanguard Ikora Rey.
Since its announcement in October 2024, the project has undergone an alpha test on iOS and a closed beta test on Android for users in North America. Pre-registration is currently ongoing, which allows you to receive additional rewards. The number of registrations has already exceeded 5 million players.
