Razer releases the first mechanical keyboard without keys to assemble by hand

- 11 June, 02:57 PM

Razer has introduced the BlackWidow V4 75% Barebones, its first barebones keyboard aimed at users who want to build their own device with their own switches and keycaps. It is based on the popular BlackWidow V4 75%.

The keyboard is compatible with 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches, opening up a wide range of customization options. It also supports a polling rate of up to 8000 Hz thanks to Razer HyperPolling technology, ensuring minimal input lag.

Other features include:

  • Factory-lubricated stabilizers provide smoother clicks.
  • Double noise-absorbing foam, including a damping layer between the board and the case.
  • Pre-applied tape for additional attenuation of high-frequency sounds.
  • Full Razer Chroma RGB support, including per-key illumination and side LED strips.
  • Aluminum housing that can be easily disassembled for component replacement or modifications.

The BlackWidow V4 75% Barebones also retains the multimedia wheel, dedicated control keys, and a soft-touch magnetic wrist rest. All of these elements are included in the package, despite the lack of keys.

The new product will cost $140 for the black version and $150 for the white one. It is already available for order on the official Razer website. A version in the company's Phantom Green color will also appear later.
