Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 gets extended battery life and 3K video support
Meta introduced the second generation of Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses with doubled battery life and improved shooting capabilities at the Connect 2025 presentation.
The biggest emphasis is on battery life: now the glasses work up to 8 hours continuously (versus 4 in the first generation). The charging case provides another 48 hours of operation and allows you to restore 50% of the charge in 20 minutes.
The camera has been upgraded to 12MP with the ability to record videos in 3K 30fps, 1440p 30fps and 1200p 60fps for up to three minutes. Later this year, Meta will add Hyperlapse and Slow-motion modes. Photos can be taken at resolutions up to 3024×4032 pixels.
The glasses have 32 GB of built-in memory, which is enough for about 500 photos or 100 short videos. For audio, a five-microphone system and open speakers with improved bass and volume are used.
Meta also announced Conversation focus, a feature that will amplify the other person's voice in noisy places. In addition, live translation capabilities have been expanded, now supporting German and Portuguese.
The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 is available in Wayfarer, Skyler, and Headliner styles, with a variety of colors and lenses, including photochromic Transitions. Pricing starts at $379, while the first generation will remain on sale for $299.
Recall, Meta also introduced Ray-Ban Display AR glasses for $799 and a new sports model Oakley Meta Vanguard.
