Qualcomm has officially confirmed the date of its next Snapdragon Summit at Computex 2025, which will take place from September 23 to 25 in Hawaii. That's when the new flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor (unofficial name) will be introduced, which will be the successor to the current generation. NotebookCheck reports.
According to previous leaks, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will have a 26% higher performance compared to its predecessor. The chip will retain the 6+2 core configuration and will receive a new Adreno GPU, which will be 30% faster. Such improvements will be possible thanks to the use of Arm v9 instructions, new cores from Nuvia and TSMC's 3nm N3P process technology.
It is expected that the first smartphones based on it will appear in October 2025. Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will probably become the basis for smartphones such as Xiaomi 16, OnePlus 15, Honor Magic8 Pro and others. At the same time, it is not yet known whether Galaxy S26 smartphones will receive the new Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, since, according to some reports, the new flagships from Samsung will be equipped with their own Exynos 2600 chips.
