Apple said that public beta versions of iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26, tvOS 26, and watchOS 26 will be available in July 2025. For now, only developers can test new versions of the software.
Apple traditionally releases public betas in mid-July. For example, iOS 18 became available on July 15, iOS 17 on July 12, and iOS 16 on July 11. So this year, we should expect a release around the same time, roughly between July 8 and 15. This allows the company to test key changes first with developers, fix major bugs, and only then make them available to everyone.
Users will be able to test new features and interface changes across almost all of Apple's ecosystems, including HomePod and even AirPods. At the same time, a public beta version of visionOS 26 (for the Vision Pro headset) is not planned - its testing will remain exclusively for developers.
As usual, the final release of all systems is expected in the fall of 2025.
