Meta plans to launch a paid subscription for Meta AI, similar to the paid versions of ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot. This was announced by the company's CEO Mark Zuckerberg during the report for the first quarter of 2025, writes The Verge.
The paid tier will unlock additional computing power and features. While Meta is focused on audience development, full monetization is not planned until next year. The implementation of advertising and recommendations in the chatbot is also being considered.
Meta AI recently launched its own app and, according to the company, already has nearly a billion users. Previously, the AI was only available on Facebook, Messenger, and WhatsApp.
Meta reported revenue of $42 billion for the first quarter of 2025 and said it now plans to invest up to $72 billion in AI, up from $65 billion, as Zuckerberg had previously stated.
