OnePlus has finally officially unveiled its long-awaited compact smartphone, the OnePlus 13T, but only for the Chinese market. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and features a new button that replaces the physical volume rocker, 9to5Google reports.
The OnePlus 13T features a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1600 nits peak brightness, and OPPO Crystal Shield Glass. There's an optical fingerprint scanner under the screen. The smartphone also features Face Unlock.
Inside, the OnePlus 13T is powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. It also packs a massive 6,260mAh battery in an 8.2mm body with support for SuperVOOC charging, which offers 80W of power.
The OnePlus 13T will be powered by a 4400 mm² vapor chamber for cooling. The device is said to use a 3D structure to improve heat dissipation and temperature control during intensive workloads.
Another element of the smartphone is a new action button, which appeared after OnePlus announced the "death" of Alert Sliders. It can be programmed to perform the same actions as the volume rocker, or to any other, such as turning the flashlight on or off, accessing the camera, taking a screenshot, and many others.
There's a 16MP selfie camera on the front, and a dual 50MP camera system on the back, one of which has a telephoto lens. However, the smartphone lacks the Hasselblad branding, which could indicate lower-quality photo processing compared to more expensive models.
The OnePlus 13T will be available in three colors in China – gray, black, and pink. The 12/256 GB model will cost 3,399 Chinese yuan, or about $470. The model with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB will cost 4,449 Chinese yuan, or about $620. The release in other markets will probably take place a little later.
