One of the most famous German tracks in the world, the Nürburgring Nordschleife, is a benchmark for sports cars, and the set time is an argument in the arguments of fans. According to Porsche, the new 911 GT3 with manual transmission was able to break the record among cars with this type of transmission, even beating its own PDK.

The previous record was held by the Dodge Viper ACR, set in 2017 by Lance Arnold. This time was 7:01.300, and the length of the Nordschleife configuration was 20.6 km.

The updated Porsche 911 GT3 (992.2) with the Weissach package and manual transmission not only beat the previous record with the current longer track configuration of 20.832 km, but also turned out to be 3.633 seconds faster than the Porsche 911 GT3 (992.1) with the PDK automatic transmission.

So the German manufacturer managed to lower the new Nürburgring Nordschleife record for production cars with manual transmission to 6:56.294, which means not only beating the previous one, but also breaking the 7-minute mark. According to Porsche's calculations, if the Dodge Viper ACR record had been set on the current Nordschleife configuration, this time would have been 7:05.800, so the difference is calculated at 9.5 seconds.

The new record-breaking Porsche 911 GT3 with Weissach package has an output of 510 hp, the car was equipped with road-legal Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 R tires (255/35 R20 front and 315/30 R21 rear), and was driven by brand ambassador and German racing driver Jörg Bergmeister.
