Revenues from the "Google tax" increased in the first quarter of 2025
Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine, reported that revenues from the "Google tax" increased in the first quarter of 2025. 3.5 billion hryvnias were paid in January-March of this year.
Non-residents supplying electronic services to Ukrainian consumers paid VAT to the budget of €39.6 million and $43.4 million. This is €9.5 million and $8.9 million more than for the same period in 2024.
As of today, 121 individuals have submitted relevant reports. In total, the number of registered payers has increased by 26 participants, to 136 non-resident companies registered as VAT payers in Ukraine.
Top payers include Apple, Google, Valve, Meta, Sony, Netflix, Wargaming, Bolt, OpenAI, Ebay, and others.
"I thank all taxpayers who support civilized work rules and pay taxes. Because this is not only about additional revenue to the budget, which is extremely necessary in times of war. Today, together, we are ensuring fair competition between Ukrainian and international companies," Kravchenko wrote.
