Perplexity has updated its iOS app with support for an AI voice assistant. iPhone users can now not only ask questions, but also ask the bot to write a letter or set a reminder.
The assistant remains active even in the background, although features like screen sharing, like on Android, are not yet available. By the way, Perplexity even beat Apple Intelligence: its assistant is supported on all devices with iOS 16.0 and later, starting with the iPhone 8. Apple Intelligence, on the other hand, requires iOS 18.1, which means it is only available on the iPhone 15 Pro and later models.
The Perplexity assistant can create reminders, write texts, order an Uber, and partially interact with other applications on a smartphone. For example, when booking a table, the AI assistant opens the desired service, fills in the details, but the user must confirm.
