Samsung is already testing One UI 8.0 based on Android 16: first images of the new shell
Although Samsung hasn't updated many of its devices to One UI 7.0 yet, the company is already working on its next big update, One UI 8.0. Thanks to the SmartPrix edition, we know what the company's new skin will look like.
If you look at the image below, you can see One UI 8.0 running on the Galaxy Fold 6. Sources say that Samsung will focus more on optimization than adding new features or changing the interface. One UI 7.0 already brought many such changes.
In the gallery below, you can compare interface elements from One UI 7.0 and One UI 8.0. These are two examples of the My Files and Gallery apps on Samsung Galaxy devices.
Note that the icons remain mostly unchanged, but there will be some size adjustments. For example, the active buttons in the My Files app will become smaller. The company will also change the background in the Gallery for pop-ups.
One UI 8.0 will also bring important changes to the Now Brief feature. It will no longer be exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series.
By the way, the final version of One UI 8.0 may look slightly different, as it may only be a test version of the system.
