Opera Mini, the browser for Android known for its speed and data savings, has received an update with the built-in Aria AI assistant. According to the company, the new feature will not increase the size of the application or affect data consumption.
With the update, Opera Mini will receive a chatbot that will help users quickly search for information on the Internet, summarize the content of web pages, and create images right in the application.
"AI is rapidly becoming an integral part of the daily internet experience – bringing Aria to Opera Mini is a natural addition to our most-downloaded browser. With the addition of our built-in AI, Aria, we’re excited to explore how AI can further enhance the feature set our users rely on every day," said Jorgen Arnesen, VP of Mobile at Opera.
The Aria AI assistant is powered by Opera's Composer AI engine, which combines models from OpenAI and Google. It uses Google's Imagen3 model to generate images. With today's update, Aria is available across all browsers offered by the Norwegian company.
By the way, Opera Mini is the company's most popular product. This mobile browser, which appeared in 2025 for Android, has already gained over 1 billion downloads on the Google Play Store. Its main advantages are its small size, high speed and traffic-saving features that ensure fast loading of sites even with a slow Internet connection.
