OpenAI has partnered with The Washington Post to allow ChatGPT to summarize and link to articles from the publication in its responses.
This is not the first such collaboration — OpenAI has previously agreed to cooperate with more than 20 media outlets, including The Guardian and Axios.
The Washington Post expects the partnership to help expand its reach through ChatGPT’s audience of more than 500 million users. In return, OpenAI will gain access to proven and relevant journalism, which will help improve the quality of its responses. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed at this time.
By the way, despite the new agreements, not all editorial offices support OpenAI. For example, The New York Times sued the company for allegedly illegally using copyrighted materials — OpenAI denies these accusations.
