OnePlus has decided to abandon the Alert Slider, which allowed you to quickly switch between sound profiles on smartphones, and replace it with a new button in future models. This is stated on the company's forum.
The company already tried to remove the Alert Slider with the release of the OnePlus 10T, but it was met with criticism from buyers, for whom the feature was one of the best and most significant. In order not to deprive users of the convenient switch, the company's next smartphones will have a new smart button.
As OnePlus explains, this button will take up less space than the Alert Slider, and at the same time will allow you to program it to perform various functions, not limited to just switching the sound, which will also be customizable.
OnePlus also wants to hear from users. While the decision to remove the Alert Slider in favor of a smart button is likely to be overturned, the functionality of the button can still be determined by future buyers through forum comments.
