OnePlus has revealed that the Alert Slider, which the company decided to abandon earlier this year, will be replaced by a new AI button that will first appear on the OnePlus 13s smartphone, Engadget reports.
The button is called Plus Key, and it can be configured to perform any action, such as launching the camera or changing voice mode. By default, it will activate the AI Plus Mind feature — an analogue of Recall on Windows, which will save information from the screen (text or images) for later access by the user.
Information stored through AI Plus Mind will be displayed in the new Mind Space. Users will be able to search this information using text queries in their native language. It will be possible to store data about upcoming events, concerts, recipes and anything else.
OnePlus plans to make AI Plus Mind available on other devices, even those that still have the Alert Slider. On such gadgets, information can be saved by swiping with three fingers on the screen.
The company is also developing other AI-based tools under OnePlus AI. These include AI VoiceScribe, which lets you record, transcribe, and translate calls or meetings in popular apps. It also announced AI Translation for translating text, voice, and captions on images, AI Search for searching for anything on your smartphone, and AI Best Face 2.0, which helps improve photos.
