NVIDIA and AMD will soon start selling new artificial intelligence chips in China to comply with US restrictions on exports of advanced semiconductor technologies, Taiwanese publication Digitimes reported, citing supply chain sources.

According to Digitimes, NVIDIA plans to sell a simplified AI chip codenamed "B20," while AMD is preparing to meet the needs of AI workloads with its new Radeon AI PRO R9700 workstation GPU. The companies are likely to start selling these AI chips in China as early as July.

Earlier this week, Reuters reported that NVIDIA is developing a new budget AI chip based on the Blackwell architecture for China, which is expected to cost between $6,500 and $8,000. For comparison, the company sells its H20 GPUs for $10,000-12,000 per unit.

By the way, despite the US restrictions, NVIDIA showed good financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026. And the company's gaming business generally set a record.
