AI isn't the only thing – NVIDIA's gaming business had a record quarter

While NVIDIA's main revenue comes from its artificial intelligence chips, which have given the company a market value of over $3 trillion, putting it on par with Apple and Microsoft, its gaming business is also not far behind. In fact, the division posted record results in the first quarter of fiscal 2026.

Gaming revenue was $3.8 billion, up 48% from the previous quarter and 42% from the same period last year. The company cited the announcement of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 graphics cards, DLSS 4 technology, and the use of the company's chips in the Nintendo Switch 2 as significant factors.

Problems with graphics cards, which the company is actively trying to solve with new drivers, did not prevent it from achieving success. Also, cases of melting power connectors during the game did not affect the results.

NVIDIA's total revenue for the first quarter was $44.1 billion, up 12% from the previous quarter and 69% from the same period a year earlier. The numbers were slightly lower than expected due to the US government's restrictions on the supply of H20 chips to China, which forced the company to start developing weaker processors.

Of course, the main source of income for the company remains data centers, which brought the company $39.1 billion during the quarter, which is 10% more than in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2025 and 73% more than a year ago.
