NVIDIA invests $5 billion in Intel and launches partnership with the company
NVIDIA and Intel announced a multi-generational data center and PC product partnership. The companies will focus on the combined NVIDIA NVLink and x86 ecosystems to deliver cutting-edge solutions to customers.
As part of this partnership, NVIDIA will also invest $5 billion in Intel common stock at a price of $23.28 per share. The investment is subject to customary closing conditions, including required regulatory approvals.
Intel and NVIDIA will develop custom x86 processors for the data center, which NVIDIA will integrate into its AI platforms. For PCs, Intel will create x86 systems-on-chips (SoCs) with integrated NVIDIA RTX graphics chips. These new SoCs will enable powerful processors and world-class graphics across a variety of computers.
"This historic collaboration tightly couples NVIDIA’s AI and accelerated computing stack with Intel’s CPUs and the vast x86 ecosystem — a fusion of two world-class platforms. Together, we will expand our ecosystems and lay the foundation for the next era of computing," said NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang.
Recall that at the end of August 2025, the US government also received 10% of Intel shares. The state will pay for these shares with already promised grants in the amount of $8.9 billion, which the administration of former US President Joe Biden allocated to the company as part of the Chips Act 2022.
