NVIDIA and Foxconn are discussing the possibility of using humanoid robots at Foxconn's new Houston factory, where NVIDIA's artificial intelligence servers will be manufactured, according to sources familiar with the matter.
This is an important step for both companies: for NVIDIA, it is the first time that its products will be created with the participation of humanoid robots, and for Foxconn, it is the first factory where these robots will be involved directly in assembly.
Negotiations are currently underway and the deal is expected to be finalized within a few months. The introduction of humanoid robots will demonstrate how they can transform manufacturing and increase efficiency.
Foxconn is already developing robots in collaboration with NVIDIA, and is also testing models from the Chinese company UBTech. But it is not yet known which humanoids are planned to be used in Houston, what they will look like and how many of them will be involved at the start. Perhaps they will be AEON, which Hexagon created in partnership with NVIDIA.
The robots are scheduled to start operating as early as 2026, when the Houston plant will begin producing GB300 servers for artificial intelligence.
The new factory in Houston is the ideal location for this project, as it is larger and more modern than the company's other production sites.
