NVIDIA has announced a partnership with Foxconn and the Taiwanese government to build a supercomputer (AI factory) for artificial intelligence. The project is intended to support scientific research and technology development at Taiwanese companies, including TSMC, The Wall Street Journal reports.
NVIDIA uses the term AI factory to describe large computing centers that can train and maintain large language models (LLMs).
According to NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, the company is committed to helping Taiwan build a modern infrastructure for AI and foster innovation in robotics.
The supercomputer will likely be built on the Grace Blackwell platform, and will use NVLink, InfiniBand, or other high-speed interfaces to connect thousands of GPUs into a single cluster.
NVIDIA is also deepening its collaboration with Taiwanese manufacturers such as Acer, Asus, and Gigabyte to develop new high-performance desktop solutions, DGX Spark and DGX Station, that enable AI models to be run and optimized on both workstations and data centers.
